Ami Taf Ra brings her sweeping, cross cultural sound to City Winery Pittsburgh this November, joined by acclaimed saxophonist, composer, and producer Kamasi Washington for a tour presentation of her debut album, The Prophet and the Madman. Produced by Washington and released on Brainfeeder, the album draws on Moroccan Gnawa, Arabic musical tradition, gospel, soul, and spiritual jazz, inspired in part by Kahlil Gibran's writing on healing and ancestral memory.
